The pool

Heated to 82°F all year, ringed with striped loungers and two old palms. Towels and sunscreen are at the cabana.

7 am to 10 pm

Morning table

Breakfast in the Sunroom: pastries from the oven, citrus from the farmers market, and very good coffee.

Monstera, bird of paradise and a fountain you can hear from the Courtyard rooms. Bring a book.

Pool bar

Six cocktails, a short natural wine list and a bowl of salted almonds. Open from golden hour.

4 to 11 pm

The roof

Four floors up, with the Hollywood sign to the west and Griffith Park behind you. Best at about 6:30 pm.

10 am to 10 pm

House bicycles

Six city bikes with baskets and locks, free for guests. Vermont Avenue is a four-minute ride.

Good to know

The small print, made short.

  • Pool rules

    Guests only, no lifeguard. Children with an adult. Quiet after 9 pm.

  • Parking

    Valet $38 a night with in-and-out. Two EV chargers, ask ahead.

  • Dogs

    Under 40 lb, in the Garden Studios, $50 per stay. Bed and bowls supplied.

  • Working here

    Fast Wi-Fi everywhere, plus a long table in the Sunroom after 11 am.

The roof

Up four floors, at about six thirty.

The roof is where most evenings end. Bring a drink up from the pool bar, find a chair facing west, and watch the Hollywood sign go from white to pink to gone.
